Stones Throw is a five-panel woven wall hanging commissioned for a stairwell landing in a new home in Connecticut. The client requested a large-scale piece to bring texture and warmth to the space, with a natural, understated palette.

I used this commission as an opportunity to experiment with woven form and a variety of weaving drafts on my 8-shaft floor loom. Each panel explores structure and texture in its own way, unified through a shared rhythm of tone and material. The process allowed for play—working with fibers like nettle and raffia alongside softer yarns like wool and silk to create contrast and depth.

The panels are mounted on a reclaimed wood beam, salvaged from a former textile factory in North Philadelphia. The wood is over 300 years old, adding another layer of textile history and grounding the piece in material memory.

This piece is both architectural and organic, made to live in conversation with light, movement, and space.
