Maravilla (2023)
Handwoven Jute, Ramie, Linen Paper, Marigold-Dyed Wool on Cotton Canvas
29" L x 22" H (framed in oak)
Maravilla is a study in contrast—rough and soft, weight and lightness, earth and bloom. The piece centers around wool hand-dyed with marigold flowers, a material often used in rituals of remembrance and celebration. The golden tones seem to emerge from within the weave, like something quietly radiant.
This work holds a kind of reverence: for natural color, for handwoven form, and for the quiet wonder found in texture. It’s not a narrative piece, but one of presence. An offering. A moment of stillness where something ordinary—fiber, plant, light—becomes extraordinary.
