Woven in Tenderness
Overshot Tapestries in Wool + Cotton
Handwoven as a pair in 2023
These two overshot tapestry works were created during a season of deep personal transformation. Woven shortly after my engagement, they reflect the warmth, stability, and dreamlike quality of falling in love that feels both grounded and expansive. While each piece carries its own visual tone, together they speak to the quiet intimacy of commitment—how love can be both soft and strong, comforting and full of wonder.
The overshot weaving technique, traditionally used in coverlets and heirloom textiles, echoes the idea of lasting connection: threads crossing, repeating, holding. These pieces are an offering to that kind of love—the kind that stays.
